It is well said that a picture says a thousand words. The above image is aptly used in this article to convey the world that India and reforms will go hand in hand in the future. To give readers the way India has changed over the years Modi’s Davos speech was uploaded on website of Ministry of External affairs as soon as it was delivered. Should we say anything more!!
At the backdrop of august audience, Mod’s speech covered problems faced by the world including India and their solutions which are available in India from its history and ancient scriptures.
Problems faced at large and their solutions can be broken down into the following
- Individual level
- National level
- International level
INDIVIDUAL LEVEL
Human relationships have taken a beating due to technology advancement since all want to get heard but do not have patience to listen.
Solution
- Control over mind and patience can do wonders. Yoga and meditation are the means for achieving it
- Gandhi Ji’s saying that there is enough in Nature for your Need; but not for your greed is also the most apt solution to this problem.
NATIONAL LEVEL
Lack of understanding among interest groups and communities and persons are scathing to outdo and overpower others.
Solution
- Democracy – World’s largest democracy has moved ahead as it has consistently followed its belief system. ‘Unity in diversity’ has helped Indians to embrace new tax laws being GST and even demonetisation leading to people using digital payments and banking system. This solution is from the old order.
- 360 degree development – The new order believes in ‘Sabka saath sabka vikas’ meaning taking all together will only lead to orderly progress and reduce disparity between haves and have not’s.
INTERNATIONAL LEVEL
Nothing needs to be added here as everyone is aware about its seriousness and war looming large over the world.
Solution
- Decontrol of Territories – Belief in co-existence of races and religions and belief in non-violence can eradicate this evil around the world.
- Decontrol of Transactions – Treat Nature as our Mother which will lead to conserve resources at the same time use the nature towards betterment of life. Example – develop alternate source of energy like renewable energy.
With this background the PM listed out the following which is India specific:
- Commitment to Paris Agreement – is proved as India is currently 5th largest producer of solar energy and 6th largest producer of renewable energy in the World.
- Impetus to Corporate Social Responsibility – Creating employment to youths thereby increasing purchase power which in turn will drive Indian economy.
- Structural reforms – Demonetization and digital transactions, direct tax reforms and expansion of the tax base, banking reforms, Direct Bank Transfer through Unique Identification (UID) and Bank accounts, minimizing discretion, combating corruption and controlling inflation, promoting start-ups to generate employment, Skill India and Make in India initiatives and FDI reforms wherein 90% of the FDI approvals have been put on the automatic approval route are some of the reforms initiated. This has resulted in FDI increasing from USD 36 Billion to USD 60 Billion since past three years.
- Upgrading of the physical infrastructure – roads, railways and regional airports leading to development of industries and businesses in villages and smaller cities to prevent migration of villagers to cities by providing them equal earning opportunities at reasonable cost.
- Rules governing economic activity – Entry and exit of businesses, for IPRs, or arbitration and commercial adjudication.
With the above Mr. Modi ended up with snapshot of India in the years to come which has been supported and confirmed by reputed agencies like Moody’s, World Bank, IMF and World Economic forum too
- Moving towards becoming USD 5 Trillion economy by 2025
- Will become 3rd largest consumer market in the World by 2025
- Recognised as 3rd most trusted government in 2017
The most touching part of his speech that has marketed India and will hold high regards in the years to come is reproduced below “
- If you want wealth with wellness, work in India;
- If you want Peace with Prosperity, live in India;
- If you want Health with whole life, be in India.”
NPowersU Expert Opinion
Do we need to say anything more? Third most ranked politician of the World, India’s PM has shown how a developing country can pace development to outpace global powers like China but with caution and respect to other supporting countries. If Indian politicians within and outside the Government believe in the India story that the World is believing, it is a matter of time that Golden Indian dream which was prevalent in pre-British era will once again be a reality.
Let’s take a pledge to make India a better place by contributing every little that we can to achieve the goal that our PM has set us to achieve.
